Romanian government passed an emergency decree that could have disastrous consequences on social enterprises

In order to meet tax obligations from the EU Stability and Growth Pact, the Romanian Government has just forbidden to private firms to buy from protective employment units employing disabled people in order to achieve the employment rate stated by the law. Two solutions are left for them: direct employment through quotas or to pay fines, which could help the state finances. Nevertheless, the impact would be significant employment possibilities for social economy sector.

ENSIE thus supports Romanian civil society organisations in this regard.
